How To Clear Internet History On Internet Explorer

Two of the major concerns that Internet users have are privacy and security. If you browse the Internet frequently, or use it to pay your bills online then you'll probably want to take your privacy and the security of your information into account. One way to protect yourself from such things as identity theft and invasion of privacy is to learn how to clear Internet history when you're finished.

When it comes to personal computers, the majority of people use a Windows based computer. Each one of these computers comes with the standard Internet Explorer browser. After reading this article you will be able to easily clear the history from Internet Explorer and keep your browsing habits to yourself.

Now is the time to open Internet Explorer so that you can call along with this short tutorial. Select the text link found at the top of the browser which is named Tools. A drop down menu will present you with several other links. You want to click on Internet Options.

This should cause a box to pop up which has a row of tabs across it along the top. One of these tabs is the General tab. If it is not already selected, please select it now. You should then see a button located in the middle portion named Delete. Click this button to go to the next step.

Now is when you have to decide which parts of your browsing history you would like to get rid of for good. If you would like to keep your Internet favorites you will have to make the choice mail and click the option box beside for Internet Favorites. Not doing so will result in losing them.

To clear your past browsing history, select Temporary Internet Files, Cookies and History. These are the minimum you should select if your want to keep your privacy. Someone can look at your cookies and help where you have been, that is why it is important to delete them.

Your Passwords can be saved if you like, but if anyone else is going to be using your computer then they will have access to them. After everything has been selected that you would like to delete, press that last Delete button. You have now erased all evidence of what you have been doing online.
