Updates On Electrician Qualifications For 2010

By Jason Kendall

It's notable that a career within the electrical industry, with its attractive options, remains a choice for lots of people. Whilst the original term is 'Electro-Mechanical Engineering' we will simply refer to the subject as the Electrical Industry. Equally we'll focus on those credentials that fit the UK domestic and commercial sector rather than those from around the world. Due to the huge list of opportunities available for a career in the electrical industry, we have to begin by focusing on the main areas and look at the 'add-ons' later on.

On consideration, we observe two forms of access into the electrical market. Along with apprenticeships for school leavers, students entering the field at a later phase in their life now have an alternative to more traditional amateur routes. For the sake of clarity throughout, the first will be known as 'Junior Entrants' and the second simply known as 'Mature Entrants.'

Principally, Mature Entrants join the electrical workplace later on, and focus on becoming self employed. This means working on their own and not having to pay salaries to anyone else. Those who join as Junior Entrants, on the other hand, appear to do so with the aim of joining an established electrical firm - in order to gain further qualifications and experience whilst picking up practical and other work-place skills. Often a young apprentice will be in their first job since leaving school, and will therefore have a host of ancillary skills to learn during their first few years as a working adult.

The different ways into electrical work have two distinct types of training: Junior entrants go through NVQ training in England and Wales, and SVQ training in Scotland. The training itself is similar to non NVQ training, but completion of the full programme means getting the actual qualifications. 'Junior Entrants' will have to be in an apprenticeship of some sort in order to achieve the testing and course work required.

Instead of seeking a work-based training environment, the Mature Entrant often seems to focus on working as a self employed person where different qualifications to NVQ's are preferred. In the main the person will aim to gain the best from their investment costs against the return for that training. This method may appear to reduce the levels of knowledge overall, but it does allow for an increase in the speed by which people enter and become more prevalent within the market.

So we have two defined routes laid out - one being for general employment and the other centred on self-employment. For the sake of this document we will assume that everyone involved in electrical employment is working full-time. Certainly, whilst salary levels can be affected by knowledge and qualifications, they can also be affected by competence and aptitude.

Wages for 'Junior Entrants' can become as high as 30,000 or more per annum with the right experience, although starting salaries are around 12,000. Mature Entrants are more difficult to assess, and incomes up to and above 70k are regularly reported within the UK Press. Irrespective of this salary level many self-employed people also need to manage extra business costs such as tools, clothes and vans. In addition to this they will also have to allow for items such as accountancy and personal/professional insurance. Whilst there is lots of available work, a severe skills shortage means electricians are very much in demand. Working 7 days a week is totally achievable for most people if they want it. Although by working very long hours and having assistants to help, the figures of 70-100 thousand advertised in newspapers might be achieved, it wouldn't be easy.

In light of the above, it is often understood that there is wild variance between the working expectations of Junior and Mature Entrants. Electricians who are 'Junior Entrants' would work a simple 40 hour working week. To be fair, if the Mature electrician is focused on the domestic market then they often find themselves working out of hours, especially to support their clients when they get home. With many self-employed electricians the core of their income comes from items such as business testing and installation and as such operates during the main part of the week.

Any specialist knowledge the Junior Entrant gains whilst in someone's employ is usually down to the sectors of industry that company works in. Alternatively, the mature entrant can gain other training outside of their chosen field, such as gas and plumbing work. Without a doubt the extra skills help them in their overall employ whether this is commercial or domestic work.

'Green Engineering' is another area to consider. This requires new skills and working knowledge and is one of the fastest growing areas today. With expected growth through new employment contracts and business options, this new entity is extremely attractive to many Junior and Mature Electricians, especially when considering the UK and EEC support overall.

Cheap Web Hosting - Ups and Downs

By Nicholas Halmond

In today's world, thousands, if not millions of people are trying to start some sort of website online. Most of them end up losing out on all kinds of money due to the lack of knowledge most individuals have in the beginning. We all seem to get bombarded by free website builders, social networking sites, and everything else, but most of the customized features for these sites are minimal. They simply don't have the same type of options an affordable web hosting site can offer you. However, it's not all "peachy" in web hosting sites.

Then again, affordable web hosting has just about everything you need. You probably aren't going to be enjoying tens of thousands of visitors everyday yet, so the space, bandwidth, uptime, tech support, email, and cPanel should be enough. Granted you want a stylish site, but most of the affordable web hosting sites you come across will offer Site Builders.

What you should really focus on upfront is the types of back-up systems available. While it's something to worry about, there shouldn't be a problem finding a suitable site that keeps your information from being discarded in unfortunate situations. Plus, it's always nice to have back office help when needed, and FTP access if you want to upload files from the computer.

Another thing you'll want to look for is speed and security. Most affordable web hosting has uptime at 99% and speeds that reflect high speed Internet use. Even if your site is full of traffic, their servers will do the job. Just keep in mind that the more multimedia items you have on your website, the performance starts to go down some. However, just compare these to a free web hosting site and you'll notice the difference.

On the downside, affordable web hosting packages arent suitable for people that want to set up multimedia sites that have streaming capabilities because high amounts of traffic will suffer from major slowdowns. This is where dedicated web hosting gets the upper hand here boasting faster speeds since other sites do not share the same server.

Since you will be sharing servers with other websites most of the time, you could suffer if they're attacked by a virus. It's a major security even if you feel as though your site is secure. We always recommend backing everything up as an insurance plan so you can avoid any future issues.

Privacy may also be an issue as well since most affordable web hosting companies do not allow custom nameservers to be made. The least that you can do is pay extra for domain WHOIS privacy. Still dedicated servers offer better privacy protection and some enhanced security options as well.

So as you can see there are a few minor drawbacks to using affordable web hosting. However, they are all in the later stages of your website's success. It's important to understand when you're starting any business, you should only spend what you need to in the beginning. Once you are able to accumulate the traffic and conversion rates that will bring you a return on your investment, then it will be time to take a look at dedicated servers. For now though, stick with affordable web hosting and keep the costs down. It will truly help you out in the end.

Maximize Your Cash Flow With Mafia Wars Rackets

By Stephen Spiers

The future of the game is to use Mafia Wars rackets as a alternate for properties. Players who are new to the game will receive the rackets feature while "old" players will still have access to the properties feature. An incentive of some sort will ultimately be given to players under the old system in order to move everyone into the rackets system. The new system is not meeting with much enthusiasm, especially from players who have played under the properties system. There is also some complaints about how Zynga delivered the new system.

How do you use the new Mafia Wars rackets system? Under the new system you can no longer buy properties and let the cash roll in, instead you have to return to the rackets at timed intervals and collect on them.

You "shake down" a racket in Mafia Wars and then have to return after a specific time in order to collect. It is important that you return to collect on the shake down because the payout could be lost. You have to return to collect on the shake down "promptly" or you can lose the profit from the shake down. Although your are told how long the shake down will take, you are not told how long you have to collect.

You use influence to shake down a racket.|In order to shake down a racket you have to have sufficient influence. Your influence is regenerated at a rate of one per hour and is not reloaded when you level.

Under the rackets tab there are a number of different rackets and a variety of tabs, each with more rackets. The tabs are cash, attack, defense and jobs. These specify the cash return or boost you get when you shake down the racket.

The influence that you used to shake down a racket is also returned to you along with the cash or boost. You will only get back influence to a maximum of 125% of your total level. The influence you used can be lost if you are too slow at returning to collect. Along with your influence you will lose any take and other benefits of the shake down if you do not return promptly.

Each racket can be mastered. Each time you master a racket you get access to additional rackets. Rackets seem to pay out very little when compared to properties but as soon as you have mastered them your take will increase.

For those coming from the properties version of the game this may seem really bleak, but the payout can receive quite high once you master the racket levels.

Famous And Beloved Movies To Consider Right Now

By Lori Cobb

It is exceedingly likely that throughout the world the number one most wanted form of entertainment is films. Motion pictures are universally loved and they have the power to affect us in many ways both good and bad. Movies that are based upon true stories help us to learn from other folks experiences and fictional films actually do the same thing since they are ordinarily based upon real life.

A mixture of genres of motion pictures appeal to dissimilar people of course. There are those who love a good horror movie that scares them and others who just won't view that type of motion picture. Chick flicks can appeal to both men and women yet some people detest them. However, the great thing about the movie entertainment business is that there is always something for everyone.

Motion pictures have been around for decades but it has only been in the past 30 years that we have been able to love movies at home. There are millions and millions of videos/DVD's etc. purchased and rented in America every month but now it can be even more simple because it is now doable to download movies instantly to your computer right from your home.

We like to watch movies and the fact is that films can be very positive for our lives. Viewing a good film permits us to slow down and flee our everyday tribulations, anxieties and fears, while we get caught up in the lives and circumstances of the characters in the movie.

Films also educate us about life. Some spellbinding true tales have been memorialized on film. An exceptional case of this is the film "Erin Brockovich" starring Julia Roberts. By viewing the life of another we learn about the world we live in. Documentaries are also very instructive and educate us about the world. The movie "An Inconvenient Truth" is a good case of that.

History is also many times portrayed in the films. One of the most beloved films of all times actually teaches us a lot about an important part of American history. "Gone With The Wind" seems like a love story about Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara but it essentially teaches us quite a bit about the Civil War and that time in our history.

Timeless film from the year 1978, Inglorious Bastards. 5 cadets getting ready to be court-martialed in WW2 take off and try to make their way through France, wanting to get to the Swiss border. Cast includes Ian Bannen, Bo Svenson, Fred Williamson, Peter Hooten, and Michael Pergolani. (100 minutes, 1978)

Our top movie is Jarhead. This movie takes you from boot camp through a tour of duty in the Gulf War. As the soldiers poor into Iraq they meet little struggle. Many of the soldiers are enthusiastic to see some action. It's what they have been training for.

Casino Royale is a classic motion picture. It is an old-fashioned James Bond escapade. The wit is gone, and a tough and gritty 007 is trying to take down Le Chiffre, the financier for terrorists. Bond must defeat Le Chiffre in a huge money poker contest to help the C.I.A. arrest him.

And start learning about how you can do it the effortless way. Look for a lawful movie download site and learn how you can get films right on your own computer from the comfort of your house.

The Perfect Solution To All Your Business Capital Needs: A Must Read For All Business Owners!

By James Scott

How To Find All The Angel Investors And Venture Capital Financing You'll Ever Need! The once definitive line that would separate hard money and private/angel financing has merged into a hybrid of sorts in the past few years. As the economy has taken a dive and structured private lending firms have felt the crunch we are finding many of these lending solutions closing its doors and re-opening as privately owned and managed funding options with an interest in both lending and seed investment.

Approval decisions that were once made by a group are not being made by an individual or duo with an eye toward optimal capitalization with both short term and long term agendas. As investors are, now more than ever, trying to get as much bang out of their buck, entrepreneurs are in the precarious position of accepting funding from virtually any and every enterprise that is making an offering. That said, it is more important now than ever to swing open your mind to the possibilities of mass exposure of your opportunity to the investment world.

The best way to do this is to simply put your business in constant and automated 'introduction' mode so that you can be found by the moneymen. The best way to do this is to heavily investigate the venture capital industry for executives who have created offshoot programs that have deviated their process from the traditional path of simply approving or declining a transaction.

There are many VC professionals who want to capitalize off of the projects that their firm cannot accept due to underwriting criteria and industrial genre specialization so they are starting these small but well managed financial source databases where members can place their transaction directly in front of thousands upon thousands of angel investors, private investors, hard money lenders, venture capital firms, private equity firms and other alternative finance solutions.

These websites are now the hottest thing in the capital markets and will continue to grow because of the high success rate of individual executives and entrepreneurs who are able to find multiple streams of financing options with the click of a button.

Cisco CCNA Support Training - News

By Jason Kendall

The CCNA is the usual starting point for all training in Cisco. With it, you'll learn how to handle maintaining and installing routers and network switches. Basically, the internet comprises of vast numbers of routers, and many large organisations who have various regional departments rely on them to keep their networks in touch.

Achieving this qualification means you'll probably end up working for large companies who have many locations, but still need contact. Alternatively, you may find yourself employed by an internet service provider. These jobs are well paid and in demand.

The appropriate skill-set and comprehension before starting your Cisco CCNA course skills is very important. So talk to someone who can tell you what else you need to know.

It's essential to have authorised exam simulation and preparation programs as part of your training package.

Avoid relying on non-official exam papers and questions. Their phraseology is sometimes startlingly different - and sometimes this can be a real headache when it comes to taking the real exam.

Obviously, it's essential to know that you've thoroughly prepared for the real exam prior to doing it. Revising mock-up tests logs the information in your brain and saves you time and money on failed exams.

How can job security honestly exist anywhere now? In a marketplace like the UK, where business constantly changes its mind whenever it suits, it seems increasingly unlikely.

Security can now only exist via a fast rising marketplace, driven forward by a shortfall of trained staff. It's this alone that creates just the right conditions for a secure market - a more attractive situation all round.

The 2006 British e-Skills analysis highlighted that over 26 percent of computing and IT jobs are unfilled due to a huge deficit of well-trained staff. To put it another way, this means that the UK only has three properly accredited workers for each 4 positions that are available now.

This one concept on its own shows why the United Kingdom needs a lot more people to enter the IT sector.

It's unlikely if a better time or market conditions could exist for getting certified in this quickly expanding and developing business.

One of the most important things to insist on has to be 24x7 round-the-clock support from professional mentors and instructors. So many companies we come across only provide office hours (or extended office hours) support.

You'll be waiting ages for an answer with email based support, and phone support is often to a call-centre who will just take down the issue and email it over to their technical team - who will call back over the next day or so (assuming you're there), at a suitable time to them. This is no good if you're sitting there confused over an issue and have a one hour time-slot in which to study.

We recommend looking for training programs that use several support centres from around the world. All of them should be combined to enable simple one-stop access together with 24 hours-a-day access, when it's convenient for you, with the minimum of hassle.

If you accept anything less than 24x7 support, you'll regret it. You may avoid using the support throughout the night, but you're bound to use weekends, early mornings or late evenings.

Most people don't even think to ask about something of absolutely vital importance - the way the company segments the courseware sections, and into how many parts.

Students often think it makes sense (with a typical time scale of 1-3 years to pass all the required exams,) that a training provider will issue one module at a time, as you achieve each exam pass. But:

What would their reaction be if you find it difficult to do each and every exam at the required speed? Sometimes their preference of study order won't fit you as well as some other structure would for you.

Ideally, you'd ask for every single material to be delivered immediately - meaning you'll have all of them to return to any point - whenever it suits you. You can also vary the order in which you move through the program as and when something more intuitive seems right for you.

A Look At A Postal Code Map

By Adriana Noton

Countries throughout the world use a postal code map in their postal stations. These maps are compiled for each country, state, country, and region and are kept in a centralized location where they are scanned into scanning machines that are used in postal stations throughout the world.

The kinds of scanners that are used for postal stations are often very large. Letters are collected from villages, towns, and small cities and transported to large, centralized distribution centers where the scanners read bar codes that have been placed on envelopes and parcels.

Many of these scanners also are made to reach the handwritten numbers and letters on envelopes. These letters are often more difficult for the scanner to read appropriately and, when it is not possible to discern the number or letter, the machine passes the letter or parcel to a human for review. The individual reviewing the letter will then direct the item to its appropriate distribution point.

People will find a postal station in almost every small town or city. Mail is distributed to, and collected from, the residents of the town. In most cases the mail is collected by services on a daily basis and transferred to the centralized station where it is sorted and shipped to distribution points in other regions.

The main scanning machines that are used in centralized stations are very large. When mail is dumped on the link chain conveyor it moves very quickly through an ever narrowing group of sorters that lead to the main point for scanning. As the mail is scanned, it is then directed to bins for local, national, and international distribution. When hand written letters or numbers cannot be read, the scanner sends the letters to a human who has a small handheld scanner. The code on the letter is scanned with the handheld scanner and the data is transmitted to the main computer. This allows the main scanner to read the numbers and letters when they come through again.

When the wrong postal code is placed on a parcel, it can be directed to the wrong country very easily. Many people put codes on their letters they are unsure of, when this occurs the letter or parcel can be missing for several years before it finally is returned or ends up at the correct address.

Scanning machines use a global postal code map that is built in to the hard drive of the system and updated regularly. An individual who does not put a postal code on a parcel will find that the postal station will put a label with the correct postal code on it so that the parcel will be sent to the proper location.

In many cases people are able to get maps that contain postal codes for their region or area. However, some large regions have several codes for cities and use many maps simultaneously in their distribution centers.

Educational Software Kids: A New Way To Educate Your Kids

By Jason Caldwell

Now a days mostly kids are interested in playing games on computer. They play a lot of games but not educational ones. It is your responsibility that you buy educational software for your kids. Utilize the time that your kids are using for playing games.

Kids educational software does not teach a kid to earn money but they teach some things which are useful for kids in long run. They will learn all the concepts in a playful way. If they will learn concepts in a playful way then it is for sure that they will not forget it for whole life.

Kids educational software does not teach like teachers. It works on the concept of interactive based teaching. It teaches kids in a way in which they enjoy it. . Also kids take interest in playing games on computer and by taking this advantage, if you let them play the games which are basically educational software, then you will see a vast change in the knowledge of children.

The different educational software available for kids, teen and adults are Learn to type, language software, school software, toddler, and preschool and kindergarten software, grade school software, middle and high school software, reading and writing software, SAT and other exam prep software, math software and math games, science software, history software, storybooks, animals and wildlife, software for deaf, art software, learning games, drawing games, thinking games, mystery games, chess, learn to play an instrument, dictionary and bible.

Just check some things before buying educational software. Check whether the software you are going to buy is made for that age. If the software is not for that particular age then he or she will not take interest in it and this will lead to total time and money wastage. When you choose software, check if it is original or pirated. If it is original then only buy the software otherwise it is not advisable to buy it.

You can also purchase educational software online. Just search on Google about the site that works in this field. Choose the site that is trusted one. You will also get all the instructions for its operations. There are many sites which provide educational software at a great discount. So just sit in front of computer, search for the site that sells kids educational software and just by a click of a mouse button you will get the software at your home in just 24 hours.

There is an increase in the usage of educational software. Parents are becoming aware of the benefits of this software. Due to this, the demand is increasing at a grater phase. And due to this demand, the competition between different companies is also increasing. Increase in competition leads to designing of more and more educational software.

Tips You Need To Know When Recording Your Webinar

By Stephen Beck

You will be surprised at how fast you can start recording webinars once you have two computers and know a few tricks to get this done.

Broadcasting your webinar will take place on your primary computer (mac or pc). You should ensure that you get the cheapest services possible because doing this in a rush can be very expensive. If you are on a budget, then I recommend the one that I use: GoToWebinar by Citrix. GoToWebinar is ideal if you are targeting up to 1000 attendees on a webinar, and unlike other webinar services, you will be able to do this at an affordable cost. You will not be limited to just one presentation during the month. You can have as many webinars as you want in this month. For people who intend to experiment recording webinars, this is a perfect option.

The other services that are offered by some webinar services does not guarantee me a clean recording, and this is one thing that I try to avoid. Recording in Camtasia is the best option. It does not give you the hassle that other recording services have with different files that are confusing and sometimes don't work as well.

Once you open Camtasia on your recording computer, set the recording box to 640 x 480. Having both a recording and a broadcasting computer will allow you to host the webinar and attend your own webinar at the same time. The audio must be set for manual input instead of automatic.

There are, however, a few things that you will need to know to prevent feedback and echo from getting in as you record webinars. You will need to get a cord with a 1/80 jack on each end from an electronic store. After you have this in hand, then you will need to plug one end into the microphone and another end into the headset. When you do this, then it will be difficult to pick up any feedback and echo while you record webinars. You will not have to do any editing or recording to it at first.

You will need to resize your webinar to fit into the green recording box from Camtasia. This is not a complicated process, and all you have to do is hit the record button and then watch the sound levels. Now you are on your way to recording webinars professionally.

After this you will be able to modify it according to your personal needs: web, CD, blog , etc. You are ready! Now you know the tips to record webinars that will make you look and sound professional.

Ways To Make Vista Boot Faster

By Trevor Johnson

If you are a computer freak then a question must have come to your mind that how to make Vista boot faster? Usually the Vista program is always considered to be the slowest one, especially when compared to XP or the newer Windows 7. When somebody asks about the best operating system then people mostly support XP rather than Vista.

Due to the small number of options for tools Vista has been facing this problem. Users who are working in Vista find it quite slow. More over there are no sufficient tools to recover it.

Some of the softwares which help the windows XP to work faster are not supported by the Vista. So in comparison to XP it works slowly. Softwares which don't work well with Vista are BootVis and Tune XP.

If still you want to make Vista run faster then defragmenting this system will be the ideal way. Whenever you are uploading or downloading any file a lot of space in hard disk is eaten up by the new file. So in return this makes the Vista work slowly. But if you defrag your computer then the file is condensed and leaves a lot of space.

If you pass a command like "defrag c:-b" then your system will manually start defragmenting. This will help your Vista work much faster. But there is a problem with this manual defragment. You have to wait in front of the computer to give the command of the completion of your defragment. But still if you go to the network administrator then your problem related to Vista can be solved in an easier way.

Once you defrag your computer you can make Vista boot run quicker and can work much more efficiently in the Vista. You should also check if there are any programs running on startup that you could do without. You'll likely want MSN Messenger but some of the others you may not miss.

Gaming With Great Nintendo Wii Games

By Franklin Abbotsford

Just the gaming console itself could not provide much of enjoyment without a great selection of games. Nintendo Wii games are well known for being cool and enjoyable. Each game has its own characteristics and highlights. Some of them are also known to be expensive because of the exceptional gaming experience provided.

This 2009, Nintendo's game lineup has Pokemon Platinum at the top. Other new releases include more play control, Pikmin and Mario Power Tennis for Wii. The enhanced Pokemon appears to be more impressive and adventurous. Pokemon Platinum is the latest one from the core series of the famous Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl games formed from the 2-D format. It highlights the manifestations of powerful Pokemon including the legendary Giratina's Origin Forme. Another one is the rise of mysterious new world in the Sinnoh region known as Distortion World.

Nintendo also provides two classic Nintendo GameCube games such as Mario Power Tennis and New Play Control. The new New Play Control- Pikmin game maximizes the use of Wii Remote controller in selecting a single Pikmin or the entire army. Mario Power Tennis still has the vast selection of characters complete with motion-controlled serves and swings. Here, players gain actual interaction with the console because Wii Controller can be used to swing, hit and spins literally during the game.

Third party games are also included with Wii games to promote branded titles such as Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time from Square-Enix. Being a creative game, it supports unique multiplayer features all through out Nintendo platforms. The introduction of Madworld from Sega is also exclusively intended for Wii.

More exciting games introduced by Nintendo are published by Activision, Crave Entertainment, Destineer, D3 Publisher, Disney Interactive Studios, DreamCatcher, Hudson Entertainment, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. and others. To name a few, we have Monsters vs. Aliens, Solitaire & Mahjong, Cate West: The Vanishing Files, Onechanbara "Bikini Zombie Slayers", Play the World, SimAnimals and others.

Though the above mentioned games are really enjoyable and exciting, the top five Wii games recognized this year in no particular orders are as follows: Wii Sports Resort, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, Wii Guitar Hero: World Tour and Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop.

Wii Sports Resort is a must-have collection at home because of a wide range of new sports and activities done of a beach resort. MotionPlus accessory is a requirement when playing just like in archery since the Wii Remote Controller serves as the player's bow. Wii Sports Resort features the new motion-detection technology in Wii so as to provide a great gaming experience.

The Super Smash Bros. Brawl supports multiplayer gaming involving fast-moving 2D fighting characters with a total of 35 of them from the previous Nintendo games. You can win by knocking down your opponent in the arena and you can use the "smash" attacks. Another well-known multiplayer game is Mario Kart Wii that can be played in an interconnected network together with your friends. The objective of this game is to win in the Grand Prix by racing with other 11 competitors.

In the Wii Guitar Hero: World Tour, up to 8 players in the multiplayer mode is supported. Unlike before, playing of drums and singing all along is now possible here. The last but not the least, Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop is all about zombies. These action-packed games originally appear at XBOX 360 but Nintendo Wii proves that it can come up with its own version filled with more fun and excitement.

Wordpress out of the box provides basic management of the fundamental SEO meta information. To extend the functionality we add our own super-charged version of the All-In-One-SEO Pack. The SEO pack makes it easy to modify the page title and page meta description.

The All-In-One-SEO Pack is a great WordPress plugin that finishes off the SEO aspects for WordPress. For some unknown reason WordPress still has not got the SEO fixed out of the box.

The All-In-One-SEO Pack allows you you to change the most important page components - page title and page description. It also allows you to change the page keywords, but as we all know, search engines no longer take note of these because they have been spammed too much in the past. Google finished using the keywords for page ranking in the early 2000's.

Page Title HTML tags

This is the No1 SEO component to manipulate. Always make sure that you control the page title. The page title appears in the browser window at the very top of the screen. Search engines use this in the listings and display it in their search results.

Ideally the page title consists only of appropriate keywords and nothing else. To make the text more human readable then we often add a pipe character (

Just like with a book the page title of an HTML page is the most significant factor. Never leave this element to chance. Make sure you use keywords in the title.

If your page needs to extend to cover two or three keywords we have found that you can still get great rankings from adding multiple keywords to the title. But do remember that the closer the page title is to the keyword you want to rank for the better.

If you are a larger branded company you will probably want to add your company or brand name into the page title considering this is displayed on Google. Keep it short and simple though. Do not add your brand statement just your brand or company name.

Page Descriptions Meta Tags

This element is NOT used by search engines for ranking purposes. Nevertheless, virtually all search engines will employ this in their search results so it is important. Google does not use the description all the time but we find that it uses it about 80-90% of the time. At other times Google will use the first piece of text that it can find on the page. On Flash pages this can be an issue considering there is no content. This is one reason why you should always add at least one sentence of HTML text on a Flash based page so Google and other search engines have something meaningful to display in the search results.

By having a good description it will increase your click through rates because the text will be more engaging to people. Ensure that you use a maximum of 156 characters. If you use any more characters Google will cut short the rest. If you can keep your descriptions to--0 characters or less this is even better seeing Google sometimes adds a date to the beginning of the description which is part of the 156 characters it displays.

SEO Meta data shown on Google listing

Changing the meta data and page title

At the bottom of every page and post you will find the meta tags plugin details. Update the details appropriately. Note: If you can only use see the title for the plugin and no details, just click the title and the section will expand.

Writing Flash Games - A Guide to Flash Game Development

By Billy Deakin

Browser games have become hugely popular in recent years. Social games on sites like Facebook and Addicting Games have reached and all time high, and Flash game developers are now in huge demand to come out with new titles. Flash developers in general however tend to shy away from creating games, which they see as overly complex applications. With the right methodology however, and a solid plan, any Flash developer can add game design to their repertoire and complete with the games studios.

Games are quite complex applications. Not only is the game specific code quite unique (you won't see path finding algorithms, or collision detection in an office app!) but they tend to have lots of extras like game over screens, and pregame animations which all add to the amount of work and time required to develop them. So the only way to develop a game methodically is to start with a solid written design, and then a list of required assets (graphics, audio etc.) and only then should you consider starting to code.

After a design has been drafted, creating a mock-up game in Flash is the next step. At this stage the idea is to write the Actionscript code for the game to be functional, but not worrying too much about how the game looks. I often use place holder graphics at this stage, which will later be swapped out with the proper graphics produced by an artist, and unless it is integral to the game I leave the audio out entirely. Once the mock-up has been developed, and tested, the next stage is to integrate the graphics and audio. If the design phase was completed carefully with consideration to the graphics and audio, the artists (if the developer is not creating the graphics themselves) can be producing the graphical assets while the mock-up is being created. This allows the graphics and audio to be integrated relatively quickly and easily, and the game is now fully tested again.

Finally, after all the hard work designing, developing and testing the game your final creation will be ready to publish. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done, and start planning your next project.

If you're thinking of getting started in Flash game development then it's a really good idea to edit an existing game or two first. Making changes to an existing game, such as adding new levels or power-ups, can be a far less daunting task than building a whole game from scratch. You can even take the source code for an existing game and turn it into a new game entirely. Then once you've gained more experience you'll be in a better position to start building your own games from scratch.

Companies Training In Comptia Network Plus Examined

By Jason Kendall

In these days of super efficiency, support workers who can fix networks and PC's, and give ongoing advice to users, are essential in all areas of the business environment. As we get to grips with the daunting complexities of technology, growing numbers of trained staff are being sought to run the smooth operation of functions we rely on.

Many trainers provide a shelf full of reference manuals. It's not a very interesting way to learn and isn't the best way to go about studying effectively.

Many years of research has time and time again confirmed that becoming involved with our studies, to utilise all our senses, is far more likely to produce long-lasting memories.

The latest audio-visual interactive programs featuring instructor demo's and practice lab's will forever turn you away from traditional book study. And they're a lot more fun to do.

It would be silly not to view some of the typical study materials provided before you sign on the dotted line. You should expect videoed instructor demonstrations and interactive modules with audio-visual elements.

Often, companies will only use purely on-line training; and although this is okay the majority of the time, think what will happen if your access to the internet is broken or you only get very a very slow connection sometimes. It is usually safer to have DVD or CD discs that will solve that problem.

Often, students don't think to check on something of absolutely vital importance - the way their training provider actually breaks down and delivers the courseware sections, and into what particular chunks.

Drop-shipping your training elements piece by piece, taking into account your exam passes is the normal way of receiving your courseware. While sounding logical, you should take these factors into account:

What if you find the order pushed by the company's salespeople doesn't suit all of us. What if you find it hard to complete every element inside of their particular timetable?

The ideal circumstances are to get all the training materials sent to you right at the start; the entire thing! This prevents any future issues from rising that will affect your progress.

Most of us would love to think that our jobs will remain secure and our work futures are protected, but the growing reality for the majority of jobs around the UK today seems to be that the marketplace is far from secure.

In actuality, security now only emerges in a rapidly increasing marketplace, driven by work-skills shortages. It's this shortage that creates the correct setting for a secure marketplace - a far better situation.

Recently, a UK e-Skills investigation highlighted that 26 percent of all available IT positions remain unfilled because of a lack of well-trained staff. Put simply, we only have the national capacity to fill 3 out of each 4 job positions in Information Technology (IT).

Fully qualified and commercially accredited new employees are accordingly at an absolute premium, and in all likelihood it will stay that way for a long time.

While the market is developing at such a speed, could there honestly be a better sector worth looking at for a new future.

Commercial certification is now, without a doubt, taking over from the traditional routes into IT - why then has this come about?

With the costs of academic degree's increasing year on year, along with the IT sector's general opinion that vendor-based training is often far more commercially relevant, we've seen a great increase in Microsoft, CISCO, Adobe and CompTIA certified training programmes that supply key solutions to a student for much less time and money.

The training is effectively done by concentrating on the skill-sets required (together with a proportionate degree of background knowledge,) instead of spending months and years on the background non-specific minutiae that computer Science Degrees can often find themselves doing (because the syllabus is so wide).

What if you were an employer - and you needed to take on someone with a very particular skill-set. What's the simplest way to find the right person: Pore through reams of different degrees and college qualifications from various applicants, trying to establish what they know and which workplace skills have been attained, or choose particular accreditations that exactly fulfil your criteria, and make your short-list from that. The interview is then more about the person and how they'll fit in - instead of long discussions on technical suitability.

Courses for Programming Support - News

By Jason Kendall

We all have busy lives, and usually if we desire to learn a new profession, taking a course alongside a job is what we have to do. Training tracks certified by Microsoft can be the way to do it.

Perhaps you'd like to discuss the job possibilities with an advisor - and should you be confused, then get help to sort out what sort of job would work for you, based on your personality and ability level.

Training courses should be customised to match your current skills and aptitude. Consequently, after working out the right IT job for you, your next focus is the most applicable training course that will get you into that job.

Frequently, a everyday student has no idea what way to go about starting in the IT industry, let alone which sector they should look at getting trained in.

Reading a list of odd-sounding and meaningless job titles is no use whatsoever. The majority of us have no idea what the neighbours do for a living - so we have no hope of understanding the subtleties of a new IT role.

To attack this, a discussion is necessary, covering a number of unique issues:

* What nature of individual you are - what tasks do you get enjoyment from, plus of course - what don't you like doing.

* What sort of time-frame do you want for your training?

* What salary and timescale requirements you may have?

* With so many areas to train for in the IT industry - it's wise to get some key facts on what separates them.

* Having a proper look at how much time and effort that you're going to put into it.

In actuality, you'll find the only real way to investigate these issues will be via a meeting with an advisor who has a background in computing (and specifically the commercial needs and requirements.)

Many trainers will only offer support to you inside of office hours (typically 9am-6pm) and sometimes a little earlier or later; It's rare to find someone who offers late evening or full weekend cover.

Don't accept study programmes that only provide support to students with an out-sourced call-centre message system after office-staff have gone home. Training schools will always try to hide the importance of this issue. But, no matter how they put it - support is needed when it's needed - not when it's convenient for them.

The most successful trainers use multiple support centres around the globe in several time-zones. By utilising an interactive interface to seamlessly link them all together, any time of the day or night, help is at hand, without any contact issues or hassle.

Always pick a training company that goes the extra mile. As only true 24x7 round-the-clock live support provides the necessary backup.

At times people don't really get what IT is doing for all of us. It's electrifying, revolutionary, and means you're a part of the huge progress of technology affecting everyones lives in the 21st century.

Computer technology and interaction on the internet will spectacularly alter the way we live our lives in the near future; profoundly so.

A typical IT employee over this country as a whole can demonstrate that they receive noticeably more than fellow workers in much of the rest of the economy. Average wages are some of the best to be had nationwide.

It's no secret that there is a considerable UK-wide demand for trained and qualified IT technicians. It follows that as growth in the industry shows little sign of contracting, it seems this pattern will continue for years to come.

Beware of putting too much emphasis, as many people do, on the accreditation program. Training is not an end in itself; this is about employment. You need to remain focused on where you want to go.

Imagine training for just one year and then end up performing the job-role for decades. Ensure you avoid the fatal error of taking what may be a program of interest to you and then spend decades in something you don't even enjoy!

It's a good idea to understand the exact expectations industry will have. What particular exams they will want you to have and in what way you can gain some industry experience. It's also worth spending time assessing how far you reckon you're going to want to go as often it can control your selection of accreditations.

Seek advice from a professional advisor, even if there's a fee involved - it's usually much cheaper and safer to find out at the beginning if your choices are appropriate, rather than realise after several years of study that you've picked the wrong track and have to start from the beginning again.

How To Find a Consultant To Take Your Company Public

By James Scott

So many companies dream of going public to raise massive amounts of capital, as set up for an exit strategy, to make acquisitions with stock and for many other reasons. While your intentions may be pure and with genuine motives, you're entering shark infested waters of boiler rooms, crooked attorneys and underbelly consultants who have made careers off of taking well intentioned executives just like you for a 24 month rollercoaster ride while they take every penny you have as your company shrivels up like week old road kill.

Just and honest consultants in the 'public offering' industry are as rare as the illusive white elephant. This industry exists in a cesspool surrounded by rose gardens; from afar it looks amazing and an image of a dreamland but get up and close and the sludge and odor are enough to make you run and hide. So what do you look for in a consultant? The best consulting firms are the 'boutique firms' with minimal overhead that keep a low profile and are made up of 3 or 4 'partner' consultants.

These firms typically have the experience of working with the large consulting groups but for one reason or another have decided to leave and go out on their own. The great thing is, these small groups typically have massive contacts and process your entire public offering in-house. Offering a complete turn-key solution that is managed in-house offers a huge advantage because there is accountability and you can actually build a relationship with the people that are making your dream of a public offering come true.

These 'boutique' consultants will usually stay onboard as growth consultants for the life of the company in exchange for modest fees and a pre-IPO or pre-OTCBB equity position. The large firms will hack you out at the knees and gouge you with fees while they take massive amounts of equity in your company which takes away your bartering chip when you need to offer more stock to the public to raise capital.

The small firms will also work one on one with you to show you how to use your stock to grow through acquisition and other nifty ways to use stock to grow. Seek out the boutique consulting firm and save the attorney for spot audits. Hold on to your cash. Why pay outrageous fees to lawyers when you can pay 60% less with a small consulting firm that will add all the bells and whistles for free and actually get your stock trading, usually in half the time?

Database Study From Home Described

By Jason Kendall

What might you expect the top of the range training organisations accredited by Microsoft to offer a student in the UK today? Undoubtedly, the most supreme Gold Partner Microsoft accredited programs, providing a selection of courses to lead you to a variety of careers in the IT workplace.

It's a good idea to find a training advisor, who could offer counsel on what sort of job would suit you most, and what sort of tasks are a good match for someone with a personality like yours.

Once you've decided on the area you want to get into, a relevant course needs to be picked that's suits your ability level and skill set. This can be personally tailored for you.

Many students come unstuck over one area of their training very rarely considered: The breakdown of the course materials before being physically delivered to you.

You may think it logical (when study may take one to three years to pass all the required exams,) for many training providers to send out one module at a time, as you complete each part. However:

What could you expect if you didn't actually complete each element at the speed they required? Often the prescribed exam order doesn't work as well as another different route may.

In a perfect world, you'd ask for every single material to be delivered immediately - enabling you to have them all to return to any point - as and when you want. This allows a variation in the order that you complete your exams if another more intuitive route presents itself.

Some training providers will provide a useful Job Placement Assistance facility, to help you get your first job. However sometimes people are too impressed with this facility, as it is actually not that hard for any motivated and trained individual to get work in the IT environment - because companies everywhere are seeking qualified personnel.

One important thing though, avoid waiting until you have completed your exams before bringing your CV up to date. Right at the beginning of your training, list what you're working on and get promoting!

Having the possibility of an interview is far better than not even being known about. A decent number of junior positions are got by people in the early stages of their course.

The most efficient companies to help get you placed are generally independent and specialised local recruitment services. As they will get paid by the employer when they've placed you, they're perhaps more focused on results.

Various students, it seems, invest a great deal of time on their training course (for years sometimes), only to give up at the first hurdle when trying to get the right position. Promote yourself... Do your best to let employers know about you. Don't think a job's just going to jump out in front of you.

People attracted to this sort of work can be very practical by nature, and aren't really suited to the classroom environment, and struggling through thick study-volumes. If you identify with this, try the newer style of interactive study, where you can learn everything on-screen.

Long-term memory is enhanced when multiple senses are involved - educational experts have expounded on this for years now.

Modern training can now be done at home via easy-to-use DVD or CD ROM's. Real-world classes from the instructors will mean you'll learn your subject by way of their teaching and demonstrations. Then it's time to test your knowledge by practicing and interacting with the software.

Be sure to get a demonstration of the study materials from any training college. The materials should incorporate demo's from instructors, slideshows and lab's for you to practice your skills in.

Avoiding training that is delivered purely online is generally a good idea. You want physical CD/DVD ROM course materials where available, as you need to be able to use them whenever it's convenient for you - ISP quality varies, so you don't want to be totally reliant on a good broadband connection all the time.

Ensure all your accreditations are current and also valid commercially - don't bother with courses that only give in-house certificates.

From an employer's viewpoint, only the top companies such as Microsoft, Cisco, Adobe or CompTIA (for instance) provide enough commercial weight. Nothing else will cut the mustard.

Networking Training Programs - Update

By Jason Kendall

Network and computer support technicians are ever more sought after in this country, as businesses have come to depend on their technical advice and capacity to solve problems. Industry's need for more technically qualified people grows, as we turn out to be ever more dependent on computers in the twenty first century.

Training support for students is an absolute must - ensure you track down something that provides 24x7 direct access, as anything less will not satisfy and will also hold up your pace and restrict your intake.

Find a good quality service where you can access help at any time of day or night (no matter if it's in the middle of the night on a weekend!) You want direct-access to qualified mentors and tutors, and not a call-centre that will take messages so you're parked in a queue of others waiting to be called back during office hours.

The best trainers utilise several support facilities across multiple time-zones. Online access provides the interactive interface to join them all seamlessly, no matter what time you login, help is just a click away, without any problems or delays.

You can't afford to accept anything less. 24x7 support is the only viable option for computer-based courses. Perhaps you don't intend to study during the evenings; often though, we're out at work at the time when most support is available.

Of course: the actual training program or an accreditation is not what you're looking for; a job you're training for is. Many trainers unfortunately place too much importance on the qualification itself.

It's a sad testimony to the sales skills of many companies, but the majority of trainees start out on programs that sound spectacular in the syllabus guide, but which gets us a career that doesn't satisfy. Speak to a selection of college graduates and you'll see where we're coming from.

Make sure you investigate your feelings on earning potential and career progression, and how ambitious you are. It's vital to know what the role will demand of you, what particular exams are needed and how you'll gain real-world experience.

Talk to someone that understands the work you're contemplating, and who can give you a detailed description of what you're going to be doing in that job. Contemplating this well before you start on any learning course will prevent a lot of wasted time and effort.

Qualifications from the commercial sector are now, most definitely, already replacing the traditional academic paths into the IT industry - but why is this?

Corporate based study (in industry terminology) is most often much more specialised. The IT sector is aware that specialisation is essential to service the demands of an increasingly more technical commercial environment. CISCO, Adobe, Microsoft and CompTIA are the big boys in this field.

Essentially, only that which is required is learned. It's slightly more broad than that, but the principle remains that students need to master the precisely demanded skill-sets (alongside some required background) - without going into too much detail in all sorts of other things - in the way that academic establishments often do.

It's a bit like the TV advert: 'It does what it says on the label'. The company just needs to know where they have gaps, and then advertise for someone with the specific certification. They'll know then that all applicants can do what they need.

Many trainers offer a Job Placement Assistance program, to help you into your first commercial role. Often, there is more emphasis than is necessary on this service, because it's relatively easy for a well trained and motivated person to get work in the IT environment - because companies everywhere are seeking trained staff.

Get your CV updated straight-away though - look to your training company for advice on how to do this. Don't procrastinate and leave it for when you're ready to start work.

Getting onto the 'maybe' pile of CV's is more than not being known. Many junior jobs are got by students (sometimes when they've only just got going.)

Generally, you'll receive better performance from an independent and specialised local recruitment consultancy than you'll get from a course provider's employment division, because they'll know the local area and commercial needs better.

A constant frustration of a number of course providers is how hard men and women are focused on studying to get qualified, but how little effort that student will then put into getting the position they're acquired skills for. Have confidence - the IT industry needs YOU.

Start Your Story With Killer Paragraph.

By Garry Beau

The formal definition of an intro is a brief introductory passage. What is important is that you get the story right; it needs to encapsulate the essence or spirit of your overall point, try communicating through example. Capturing the essence is not enough; if nobody reads far enough to grasp the main point of the story then its purpose is lost.

The important point about writing an intro is that it must be short. When you write a headline and then put content below it, your reader will expect the headline to correspond to the story below. Readers really won't give much time to an intro which talks about sports, when the headline talks about vacations.

Furthermore, you may have captured the essence of the story very well in the intro, but you have to ask yourself the question.. is the intro short enough to engage reader interest before the content return to elaborating on the subject a hand?

The piece above contains an intro that's quite short. This kind of intro has the potential to work very well as long as the reader knows what they are reading. Readers know what the article is going to tell them in broad terms and so they know what to look-out for within the story.

Starting with a long introduction that appears to bear no relevance to the headline is the number one killer of otherwise good writing.

In case you use big anecdote, you must let your reader be aware of how it is connected to your subject, otherwise you will find that readers will opt out of reading your topic, even before you bring out your point.

More essence in fewer words; the function of an introduction is to convey something about your broader point.

If you want to do this right, you have to think about your intro in a broader sense and include those details which bring this out and leave out those that don't. So, if you have extra details such as dates, names, descriptions and diversions but which are not really necessary for the essence of the anecdote, do not mention them as they will only distract the reader.

Check out my site mentioned in the Author field to get even more details about this and find out more on what inspired me to write out this article.

In order to gain reader attention, you have to write out a good introductory passage by giving it that much thought and consideration. It is how you present the introduction that leads the rest of the story for the reader. So, think about our intro carefully and only put into it those details which help to do this and leave out those that don't.

How You Can Play the UK Lottery

By Tom Martens

The leading lottery game of the United Kingdom is the UK Lottery, a twice-weekly drawing with possible winners every Wednesday and Saturday. The UK Lottery is a 6 from 29 lottery, which means that the jackpot winner has to match all six numbers to collect the prize. Smaller prizes are awarded to players whose tickets match 3, 4, or 5 of the 6 winning numbers.

Every player must have a ticket. Most participants in the UK Lottery get their tickets for authorized national lottery retailers in person. Mark you selections on a play slip, and then give the play slip to the retailer. The retailer then generates a ticket for you with your selected numbers on it.

Alternatively, you may play the UK Lottery by buying virtual tickets online. In this Internet option, you enter your numbers online and then get a virtual or electronic ticket by email. You may print it out, or access your numbers by a link included in the email. Online purchase is safe and convenient, and there is no extra charge for the service.

It is important that you only use authorized national lottery web sites when you buy virtual tickets. You need to keep your user name and passwords private, and be sure to log out after you purchase your tickets. This ensures that your bank information is safe.

The player also needs to select which lottery draw they want: Wednesday, Saturday or both. You can play the same set of lottery numbers on both nights. You do not need to select different lottery numbers for different nights. In addition, the player also needs to choose how many weeks they want to play. You can play the same set of lottery numbers for up to eight weeks.

Play slips must indicate which lottery is desired, whether Wednesday, Saturday, or both. The UK Lottery permits you to use the same set of numbers both nights, and, indeed, to use the same numbers for up to eight weeks.

Every player must make sure their play slip has: Your selected numbers (or a tick in the box for the Lucky Dip random selections), the days you want to play, the number of weeks you want to play, and the correct draw dates. The ticket you get back must reflect this information and have both a visible bar-coded serial number and an unmarked void box.

If there is no lottery winner after four consecutive draws, then the final jackpot is shared between players who matched five of the six lottery numbers, plus the bonus number. This is called a Triple Rollover. Playing the UK Lottery is both easy and fun. That's why it remains one of the most popular lottery drawings today.

Need Investment Capital? You Need To Call A Corporate Turnaround Consultant

By James Scott

Most companies who are on the venture capital trail are not set up properly to attract investors. When an investor looks at your business plan and private placement memorandum they are looking for certain things. Of course funding sources look for the obvious, a solid business model, positive cash flow, industry genre with solid future growth, recession proof business (if there even is such a thing) and minimal debt.

Countless companies are turned down for funding because they lack the basics such as: an advisory board, board of directors, solid executive staff with a well groomed pedigree, reasonable share price, business plan and PPM that spell out the risks for the investor and an original marketing strategy that covers all the angles. These are just a few of the most common mistakes that companies make out of naivety and by not taking the time to hire an expert to properly structure them to make the entity appeal to investors.

Seasoned expansion and turn-around consultants can step into a company and immediately zone in on the issues that will hinder a client's investment magnetism. Often times it only takes 2 to 3 weeks to completely reorganize a company to make it stand out like a beacon in the turbulent finance industry. If you are seriously considering the idea of raising capital with a private placement memorandum, traditional institutional loans, venture capital or a public offering don't be penny wise and dollar foolish.

Spend some money and hire a consultant who is completely submerged in the finance industry to take control of the elements of your corporation that are seen as 'black eyes' to investors so that you can achieve the capital you're seeking.

The reality is, raising capital for your company is easy and straight forward if you've taken the time to examine your business objectively and sought out the expert analysis of an industry expert consultant who will run your company through a formula and make the necessary changes to increase your ability to raise capital.

Cabinet Hardware Explained

By Benedict Perez

Cabinets are available in many different styles. But the cabinet hardware attached to it makes it look more beautiful. There are different designs of cabinet hardware which match different designs of cabinets.

The numerous styles available in cabinet hardware range from simple big-box manufactured face frame cabinets with slab panel doors to intricately crafted custom cabinets hewn from the hands of generations of craftsmen. People use cabinet hardware for many different purposes but the most common is for decoration and functionality.

Decorative cabinet hardware is a piece mounted on the front cabinet doors or on drawers to open and close it. But it is not only used for this purpose. It acts as a decorative item and gives a finishing touch to the cabinets and drawers. The various types of decorative cabinet hardware are handle pulls, cup pulls, knobs, back plates, ring, bail and pendant pulls.

To fit the handle pulls and cup pulls two or more screws are required. These screws are fitted on both sides of the cabinet hardware. It is very much solid and durable. Mounting screws are used to fit the bail pulls. These are solid and swinging type bails. But in knobs there is only one screw required. You can fit rings and pendant pulls using only one mounting screw. But if the rings and pendent pulls are large one or exclusive one, you need to adjust it with two mounting screws.

Choosing Programming Courses Uncovered

By Jason Kendall

What might you expect the finest Microsoft certified training providers to offer a student in Britain in this day and age? Obviously, the finest Microsoft certified training tracks, supplying a selection of courses to lead you to a variety of careers in the IT workplace.

It's a good idea to discuss the job possibilities with an advisor - and if you're not sure, then get help to sort out what kind of IT job would be right for you, based on your personality and ability level.

Training courses must be customised to reflect your ability level and skill set. Therefore, after working out the best kind of work for you, your next focus is the most applicable training course to see you into your career.

The world of information technology is one of the more stimulating and innovative industries you could be involved with. To be dealing with leading-edge technology is to do your bit in the gigantic changes shaping life over the next few decades.

We're barely beginning to get a handle on what this change will mean to us. The way we correlate with the world as a whole will be profoundly affected by technology and the internet.

The money in IT isn't to be sniffed at either - the typical remuneration in the UK for the usual IT worker is significantly higher than in the rest of the economy. Chances are that you'll receive quite a bit more than you would in most other jobs.

Experts agree that there's a significant nationwide demand for trained and qualified IT technicians. In addition, with the constant growth in the marketplace, it looks like there will be for years to come.

Incorporating examination fees as an inclusive element of the package price and offering an 'Exam Guarantee' is a common method with many training course providers. But let's examine why they really do it:

Clearly it's not free - you are paying for it - the cost has just been rolled into the whole training package.

People who take each progressive exam, paying for them just before taking them are much better placed to get through first time. They're mindful of their spending and so are more inclined to make sure they're ready.

Isn't it outrageous to have to pay the training company early for examinations? Go for the best offer at the time, instead of paying a premium - and do it locally - rather than in some remote place.

Big margins are netted by some training companies that get money for exam fees in advance. A number of students don't take them for various reasons but the company keeps the money. Astoundingly enough, there are companies around that actually rely on students not sitting all the exams - as that's how they make a lot of their profit.

It's also worth noting that 'Exam Guarantees' often aren't worth the paper they're written on. Most companies won't be prepared to pay again for an exam until you're able to demonstrate an excellent mock pass rate.

Due to typical VUE and Prometric tests coming in at around 112 pounds in the UK, by far the best option is to pay for them as you take them. It's not in the student's interests to fork out hundreds or thousands of pounds for exams when enrolling on a course. Commitment, effort and practice with quality exam preparation systems are the factors that really get you through.

Starting from the idea that it's good to home-in on the market that sounds most inviting first, before we're even able to consider what educational program ticks the right boxes, how do we decide on the correct route?

I mean, if you've got no experience in the IT industry, what chance is there for you to know what some particular IT person actually does day-to-day? How can you possibly choose which accreditation path provides the best chances for you to get there.

The key to answering this issue appropriately comes from a thorough chat, covering several areas:

* Personality factors and interests - what work-oriented areas please or frustrate you.

* Why you want to consider stepping into IT - maybe you want to conquer a life-long goal such as self-employment for instance.

* Where is the salary on a scale of importance - is it very important, or does job satisfaction rate a lot higher on the scale of your priorities?

* Getting to grips with what the main Information technology roles and markets are - including what sets them apart.

* How much effort you'll have available to commit getting qualified.

For most people, considering each of these concepts requires a good chat with someone who can investigate each area with you. Not only the accreditations - but the commercial requirements also.

Those that are drawn to this type of work can be very practical by nature, and don't always take well to classrooms, and struggling through thick study-volumes. If this is putting you off studying, use multimedia, interactive learning, where you can learn everything on-screen.

Studies have time and time again shown that an 'involved' approach to study, where we utilise all our senses, is proven to produce longer-lasting and deeper memory retention.

Learning is now available via DVD-ROM discs, where your computer becomes the centre of your learning. Utilising the latest video technology, you will be able to see the instructor presenting exactly how to perform the required skill, followed by your chance to practice - in a virtual lab environment.

You really need to look at examples of the study materials provided by your chosen company. It's essential they incorporate video demo's and interactive elements such as practice lab's.

You should avoid purely online training. You want physical CD/DVD ROM course materials where available, enabling them to be used at your convenience - it's not wise to be held hostage to a quality and continuous internet connection.

Programming Career Courses At Home Described

By Jason Kendall

What might you expect the top of the range Microsoft certified training providers to provide a trainee in Britain in this day and age? Undoubtedly, the very best Gold Partner Microsoft certified training tracks, offering a range of courses to take you to a variety of careers in the IT workplace.

Maybe you'd choose to find advisors with experience of the IT industry, who might give you help to sort out what sort of job would suit you, and what sort of duties are appropriate for somebody with your character and ability.

Once you've decided on the area you want to get into, you'll need an applicable training course personalised to go with your skills and abilities. The quality of training should be second to none.

Students often end up having issues because of a single training area usually not even thought about: The breakdown of the course materials before being physically delivered to you.

Many think it logical (when study may take one to three years for a full commercial certification,) for a training company to release the courseware in stages, as you complete each part. Although:

What if you find the order insisted on by the company won't suit you. And what if you don't finish all the elements within their timetable?

The ideal solution is to have every piece of your study pack sent to your home before you even start; the complete package! This way, nothing can happen down the line which could affect your ability to finish.

Every program under consideration really needs to work up to a commercially valid accreditation at the finale - not some little 'in-house' diploma - fit only for filing away and forgetting.

You'll discover that only industry recognised certification from the likes of Microsoft, Adobe, CompTIA and Cisco will mean anything to employers.

Of all the important things to consider, one of the most essential is always 24x7 round-the-clock support from expert mentors and instructors. Far too often we see trainers who only provide support to you inside of office hours (typically 9am-6pm) and sometimes a little earlier or later (but not weekends usually).

Email support is too slow, and so-called telephone support is normally just routed to a call-centre that will take the information and email an instructor - who will call back over the next day or so (assuming you're there), at a suitable time to them. This isn't a lot of good if you're lost and confused and only have a specific time you can study.

Top training companies use multiple support centres around the globe in several time-zones. An online system provides an interactive interface to seamlessly link them all, irrespective of the time you login, help is at hand, without any problems or delays.

Find a training provider that gives this level of learning support. As only live 24x7 support delivers what is required.

The market provides a glut of employment in the IT industry. Picking the right one for yourself can be very difficult.

Therefore, if you have no background in the IT market, what chance is there for you to know what a particular IT employee does each day? And of course decide on what training route will be most suitable for a successful result.

Contemplation on the following points is imperative when you need to get to the right answers:

* Your hobbies and interests - often these point towards what things will provide a happy working life.

* Are you aiming to accomplish an important objective - like working for yourself in the near future?

* How important is salary to you - is it of prime importance, or is job satisfaction a lot higher on the priority-scale?

* Learning what the main job types and markets are - plus how they're different to each other.

* The time and energy you will commit the training program.

To bypass all the jargon and confusion, and uncover the best route for you, have an in-depth discussion with an experienced professional; an individual who can impart the commercial reality and of course each certification.
