Scientists Use Contract Inspection

By Dayna Fields

Contract inspection and reverse engineering go hand-in-hand when it comes to the field of science. The large amount of work that you can achieve in a very small amount of time is incredible, especially considering how long it would have taken just a decade ago.

One may take a part a computer chip and, using the same ideas from the original, rebuild it with different part than the original had. This process to reverse engineer something means that a scientist (or whoever) would dismantle a product with the intention of understanding how it was built in the first place.

For example, when the Americans noticed that the Germans in the Second World War had a better design for their gas tanks they sent out intelligence to gather some samples and then re-engineered the tank to fit their needs and created an even better model. As you can see, this method is often used by today's military.

For example, when the Americans noticed that the Germans had a better design for their gas tanks, they sent out intelligence to gather some samples and then re-engineered the tank to fit their needs and created an even better model.

Whereas we once had to rely on human hands and eyes, we can now use a machine to inspect the finished creation for us. A laser rolls over the finished product and transfers the data to a computer. That data is much more sufficient and complete than any human can offer because their senses are simply limited.

After the data is transferred to the computer, scientists can see exactly where there might be a problem or if all the parts of the machine, even the smallest parts in the hardest to see places, were installed correctly. If so, then the product can be sent off to the field for use or to the manufacturing plant for mass production.

Bottom line, the thoroughness of the laser machine is far superior to what any human eye could offer. In a matter of minute, the computer can tell you exactly what and where there is a problem in the manufacturing of the device.

In many cases, ensuring that all the parts of an object were created and secured correctly is a matter of safety. For example, astronauts in the Space Station use this type of inspection as opposed to human inspection because it is important for them to be 100% positive that everything is installed correctly. And there is no better way of making sure of this than using a machine.

Can You Tell Me How To Prevent Computer Crashes?

By Travis Van Slooten

Knowing how to prevent computer crashes can save us a lot of time, effort, and money. Plus, it can protect us from potential data loss that can be extremely frustrating. The good news is, most computer crashes can be avoided, and for those that can't be, you may be able to minimize the damage by proper maintenance. Computers can't last forever but if you take measures and ensure their proper care, they can perform better and give you many years of productive use. Here are a few tips that can help prevent computers from crashing.

The first step in computer crash prevention is proper maintenance. A well-maintained car won't break down on you. Just the same, a well-maintained computer will be more reliable. And when there is a problem, you will be more likely to spot it early. Proper computer maintenance doesn't just mean cleaning the dust out of the case every month. You also need to run scan disk and defrag programs about every month. You should run a registry cleaner just as often, if not more often. These programs are simple to use and will keep your computer running as smoothly as it can.

The next step is to keep your eyes and ears open. You computer can run diagnostics on itself and it is important that you pay attention to these when the computer starts up. Be aware of the signs of bad RAM or a hard drive going bad. If your computer is short on memory, a RAM stick may be going bad. If your hard drive is buzzing or clicking, you may want to consider backing up your data immediately. By learning to recognize the visual and auditory cues of hardware failing, you will not be taken off guard when something does go bad.

An important aspect of knowing how to prevent computer crashes is protecting it from outside elements that can cause damage. This can encompass a number of things. One is placing your PC in a well-ventilated area to avoid overheating. Another protective measure is positioning it such that parts of your unit like the CPU, will not be easily kicked or hit. Even seemingly minor bumps can lead to major damage. Further, make sure that you secure your unit from power fluctuations by using a surge protector, or you risk damage to your motherboard. Use a reliable and updated anti-virus protection that can keep any the risk of viruses at bay, especially when you browse or surf the internet often.

Computers are bound to quit eventually, but if you take time to apply the right preventive measures, that eventuality would happen later rather than sooner. Also, it shouldn't take a major computer crash for us to realize the importance of always doing a data backup of all our important documents and digital files. If you have an efficient backup system, properly maintain your computer, and learn all other methods on how to prevent computer crashes, you should have nothing to worry about.

Understanding How VoIP Works

By Torrie Cantor

If you think VoIP sounds like a highly-technical term, then there's nothing more helpful than an overview of just how VoIP works. This is, after all, one of the recent developments in modern communication. Now, VoIP could be used instead of phone lines. So how does this technology work? How can you benefit from it?

The Latest Technology - The first step to understanding VoIP is to understand present technology. Our phone lines make use of what is known as circuit switching. Your call is passed through a series of switches until it reaches your recipient and the circuit is opened. In the span of time that you are on the line, the circuit remains open even at times when there is dead air. Even if you are just listening or not talking, the dedicated line is open. Since you are using this particular line, you have to pay for the number of minutes that you have been on it. The dead air is therefore considered a waste that you have to pay for.

How It Functions - VoIP functions differently. There is no circuit switching and no dedicated line. What is present is packet switching. With packet switching, your analog audio data is converted to digital packets. These packets have their own addresses so they know where they have to go. These packets then proceed to the nearest router to the next until it reaches the recipient. Once the recipient gets the packets, it is converted back to audio form.

A World of Difference - There is a big difference about how VoIP works. There is obviously no dedicated line. The packets also take different routes depending in which is most accessible. Other routes remain open for the exit or entry of other data packets. There is thus no need to pay for the dead air in which no data is sent. The lack of a dedicated line is what makes VoIP primarily cheaper than traditional phone lines.

How It Connects - Aside from the lesser cost of VoIP, its accessibility is also a major attraction. You can use VoIP whenever and wherever there is internet connection. In our world today, the internet is accessible in almost any place where people are expected to use them. This piece of technology is therefore a big bonus for people who need to travel a lot. You no longer have to spend for long distance calls that can take a big chunk off your budget. VoIP offers the chance to save a lot on the cots of calls.

The Catch - The problem with VoIP though is that it still has a lot of kinks to be worked out. There are still many services that rely on the typical audio communications set-up. One important service for example is 911. When a 911 call is received, there is instant recognition of a caller's exact location. This is still something that isn't possible through VoIP. The packets that are sent simply have IP addresses on them but no physical addresses.

Limits of Computer Technology - Aside from this downside, VoIP is also prone to the weaknesses of computer technology. Your computer could crash or you could lose packets in the process of transmission. This is a big problem if you are transmitting very important information. Your packet data could also fall victim to viruses and hackers.

On principle, there are great advantages to how VoIP works. There is still a need however, to further improve the technology to ensure that users are satisfied and kept safe.

Get Free Traffic For Your Website

By Brian Shortt

There are several methods that produce free traffic on the web. Links, SEO, and networking can drive more traffic to your site.

You might need to boost website traffic on a strict budget. Starting a web site can strain your pocket book as you shell out the necessary expenses. Free traffic may be the very thing you need right now. It could seem too good to be true, but it is not. Your investment could not be monetary, but it will require some of your chief assets; your time, energy, and creativity.

Links

Linking with other sites is a significant way to increase web traffic. Contact similar sites of a size that is compatible with your site. Ask the site owner if they are willing to post your link and offer to publish theirs on your site. You will both increase your web traffic and boost your search engine rankings. There are automated methods of link swapping, but I would advise caution while using them. You need to be aware of your web presence. In addition, the routing of the link can impact its effectiveness.

If you are a writer, you have a remarkable tool for drawing links to your site. By providing content for other sites, you can link back to your own site and strengthen internet traffic to your site.

Do not hesitate to make contact with local directory websites, trade associations, or any other web site that may link to your site.

SEO

This is not always a 'free' method. You can deposit a lot of money into an SEO strategy. However, by supplying your site with quality content containing keywords, posting a keyword enhanced blog, and increasing links with other sites, you can boost your rankings and achieve more and more visitors arriving at your web site.

A strategy that cooperates with the search engines and caters to the visitors on your site will provide you with a solid foundation that can present you business growth for years to come.

Pump Paws

Reliable, old networking can still pay off. Of course, it has taken on a new feel since you might meet a lot of your contacts through forums. Regardless of whether you are doing business in person, or chatting online, use the opportunity to make contacts. Infiltrate your local and your online community and get to know your competition as well as your clients or buyers. The online population may not have an 'old boy network', but it is a great place to meet people, gain knowledge of about what is new, and get the news out about your web site.

Free traffic could not be free in the true sense of the word, in that you still need to invest time and energy. As an entrepreneur, you could feel that your time is too valuable for some of these methods, but the pay off can be HUGE. Put together a strategy and chip away at it as you can. Over time you will see that you have built a thriving business.

A Buyer's Guide to Monitors

By Craig Stephenson

The steady rise in applications for touch-screen monitors has coincided with a constantly improving technology sector. Whether providing portable entertainment or assisting a customer with a transaction, these devices have proven very useful in an increasingly digital society. There are many options available for manufacturing touch-screens, including the recognition of physical contact as a mechanical disruption at a specific point on the surface. The surface can also contain an electric current, thus reacting to the charge difference that occurs during touching. One more example is the use of infrared lights, which can be aimed across the screen to record the area of interference with their signals.

Liquid crystal displays sport a number of benefits, making them a common option in the market for monitors. With two pieces of polarized glass containing the liquid crystals, they have slender, lightweight frames and run on minimal energy. When provided with an electrical current, the screen aligns the crystals so that pictures form depending on their specific arrangements. While LCDs currently enjoy a great deal of popularity, both their contrast and viewing angle properties are below average when compared to other monitors.

Though outdated by some standards, CRT monitors still offer excellent credentials, such as response time, color, and contrast levels on par with more recent technology. They rely on the heated filament of the cathode to produce a ray of electrons, which flows out into a vacuum tube. It passes through the tube and onto the screen, where it excites the colored phosphor pixels and generates images. Despite their consistent quality, cathode ray tube monitors are disadvantaged by their large, heavy frames and high energy consumption.

Plasma display panels are designed to provide the viewer with large, crisp screens. In fact, they can rarely be manufactured at less than 32" in an economic manner. The panel consists of two glass plates, between which there are hundreds of thousands of phosphor-coated cells filled with a mixture of noble gases, which can be charged to form plasma and emit colored light. These displays enjoy excellent response times, high contrast ratios, and wide viewing angles, but they are usually the most expensive commercial option.

With thousands of cathode ray tubes, each assigned to a sub-pixel, SED monitors are able to harness the advantages of the bulkier CRT monitor and place them inside a skinny LCD-like frame with an even lower energy requirement. Scientists are working to lower the high costs that continue to prevent surface-conduction electron-emitter displays from reaching the consumer market.

Organic light-emitting diodes, called OLEDs, require no backlight and extremely little power, allowing for ultra-thin designs. To function, voltage is applied to a film of conductive organic compounds that is printed onto suitable material under the monitor's surface. Due to their reliance on organic matter, OLEDs have somewhat limited lifespans.

When it becomes necessary to juggle multiple programs at the same time, no single monitor, even amongst all the current options, will accomplish the job. In this situation, and with the correct cords and plugs, monitors can be connected together to allow the user side-by-side access to different pieces of information. The arrangement can also be used to display over-sized files or images.

Find Good Laptop Deals

By Francua Smith

Whether we shop for bread and milk at the neighborhood grocery store; or for shirts, ties and shoes at a downtown department store or for cars or for homes - we all want fine deals. It's no different with laptops - most of us want excellent deals. This article helps you locate fine deals for laptops.

Why Look For Good Laptop Deals? Many of us are willing to take time to chop out coupons, to settle into lines winding around the block at the crack of down to be among the fortunate shoppers who will get to take advantage of a one-day sale, to drive across city to save twenty five cents on a box of cereal while spending a dollar on gas and to fill out countless rebate forms that will finally get us refunds that will barely cover the postage it took to mail them in.

Have you ever wondered why we do that? Why are we willing to go through so much trouble just to save some money, at times a few cents while at other time hundreds of dollars? Is it all about economics? I think that economics has something to do with it, of course, but the bigger and more motivating factor is quite a bit more psychological and much less obvious.

What I am talking about is empowerment. When we get to pay less for something that we know, or we assume we know, is worth more we feel that we have legitimately beat the system, whatever we define the system to be. And beating the system, any system, is empowering. Now let's see at some ways to find fine laptop deals.

1. Build Your Own Laptop When it comes to desktop computers, you can save cash and gain that euphoric feeling of empowerment by discovery sales offered by their manufacturers or retailers, by using discount coupons or rebates. There is yet another way of saving your tough earned cash on a desktop computer and that is by really building one yourself. And remember that there is nothing more empowering than a occupation well done. The same goes for laptops - you can actuall construct one yourself. Hunt for low-priced components and you can construct a decent machine that meets your needs. Learn more about custom built laptops in this article.

2. Make Use of Manufacturer Sales Unfortunately I have to fill you in on some bad news - building your own laptop is really not an option if you're not tech savvy. Or perhaps you just want something out-of-the-box and don't have the time to build one from scratch.

Well, you can still save money on laptops by making the most of existing sales (manufacturer sales, blow-out sales, clearance sales, after holiday sales and so on), you can find discount coupons in newspapers and on the Internet, and you can take advantage of rebate programs offered by manufacturers.

Much like the build-it-yourself option available for desktop computers, laptop computers have a unique savings option of their own and this option is as follows: take your set of needs, match them up to the list of specifications featured in the laptop you are considering and stick to the results.

3. Buy Only What You Need In other words, buy just what you need and that which you will really utilize or else you will be throwing away fine money. Do not get sucked into the most recent hype and be courageous enough to be out of vogue. There is definitely no sensible reason why you ought to "keep up with the Jones." Let me give you an example. If your current computer, if a desktop or a laptop, has a 5GB tough drive and you have not managed to fill it up even after the three years of ownership, do not be tempted to buy a fresh laptop with a 20 or 40GB tough drive only because your friend has one. That would be a total and utter waste!

Conclusion A fine deal on a laptop would be the one for which you have taken advantage of a clearance sale; the one which accepts the discount coupon you found in your local newspaper; the one that honors a rebate program and the one that offers what you need, no more and no less. Any one of these would make for a fine deal while a mixture of several would make a excellent deal.

Medical Office Rent: The Best Choice

By Todd McClain

Very often, the relocation of a medical office, and the subsequent negotiation and execution of a new lease, follows a well-defined pattern. After a certain amount of searching, one day a realtor shows you the perfect space, in the perfect location, and assures you that the lease will need to be signed as quickly as possible if you are not to lose the space to one of your competitors.

Health care providers create special leasing issues. Among other things, health care providers work with chemicals, they produce biomedical waste, their patients have a greater need for privacy and are more likely than the general public to be disabled. For both the landlord and the tenant, the boilerplate language in most general office and retail leases fails to address the special characteristics of medical tenants. This article generally identifies some of the most common inadequacies.

While there is no substitute for the representation of experienced legal counsel when entering into a new medical office lease, understanding some of the most significant provisions in a lease will serve you well when undertaking the initial review of a "form" lease with which your broker has presented to you. Having a little understanding of the implications of the key legal provisions can save you a lot of money in the long run. The following is the first part of a brief checklist of some of the most commonly encountered provisions and a brief explanation of the potential implications of each.

Though, as a practical matter, the tenant's use may trigger the need for ADA compliance, the tenant will want to avoid lease language obligating the tenant to pay any of the costs that the landlord incurs to bring the building into compliance with ADA. While medical tenants generally bear the responsibility for finishing the lease premises consistently with the ADA, tenants will want to consider excluding the general building ADA compliance charges from the list of expenses passed through to the tenant.

The underlying problem is fairly simple. In the typical medical office lease, the landlord undertakes the construction of certain improvements in the premises prior to turning the space over to the tenant for occupancy. As a new tenant, you expect to walk into your finished office, move in your furniture, and then begin paying rent on the day you open for business. All too often, however, the lease provides for a fixed date on which rent will commence to be payable and there is no provision for delaying that date if completion of the landlord's work is delayed.

Yet health care providers need to limit the landlord's access to examining rooms and other areas during certain hours of the day. Generally, medical tenants will seek to place limitations on the landlord's reentry rights. This can be done through designating certain privacy areas on a diagram showing the finished lease premises

Virtually all leases have provisions obligating the tenant to behave in a way which prevents mechanics liens from attaching to the property. These provisions should be reviewed to verify consistency with tenant control of the finishing At the end of the lease, the landlord is more likely to demolish the specialized health care tenant finish than with more classic office or retail tenant finish.

As health care providers seek to become increasingly convenient to their patients, they will continue to migrate to general office and storefront retail space. Both landlords and medical tenants need to work to ensure that their leases fit these special situations

How To Use A Photo Editor To Print Your Digital Photos

By Lucas Godfrey

It is a real cost saver when you can edit your pictures after you have taken them. It was always a hold your breath hit and misses way of taking pictures with standard cameras. Having said that there is still a place for those old faithful cameras in the world of photography.

Digital photography is a wonderful way to teach a youngster about catching memories for life. There is no real problem with the significant errors they will make in the beginning. As time goes on, they will take great pride in their work and hopefully have many happy hours at a great pastime.

One of the most significant ways you can help them achieve the goals they want is by teaching them how to edit the pictures so the can be printed.

Item #1: There are many free versions of photo editing software on the internet. Chose one that you feel is relatively simple and easy to use. This way you will be able to teach that novice photographer how to do their own editing. There are great programs such as Photoshop and Paint Shop pro, which can be purchased if anyone wants to become more advanced in their photography editing techniques.

Item #2: You are going to need some photos to work on. Either these can be downloaded from the digital camera or they can be scanned. Either way they can be edited readily. Unless they are perfect, you should not settle for less than best and do some type of editing at least.

Item #3 Now its time to edit. The decision here is what needs to be fixed in your opinion. Perhaps you want to cut out a lot of the useless stuff that got into your photo, so you do this by cropping it. Then you can sharper the color and contrast if you feel it necessary. Once you learn all these basics, you can get fancy with your special effects. You can make the photos look professional by adding a boarder. Perhaps put some clip art in the photo and even add some text to it.

Item #4: Once you feel the photo is exactly as you want it. Its time to print your masterpiece. Save the edited file under another name so you can keep the original as it was, just in case the edits did not turn out that great. That way you can start over again. Digital photo printing is much less complicated if you order the size of the original picture. Remember that if used any resizing features the quality of the photo will have changed somewhat. The same will apply if you change the size at which you want the picture printed.

Item #5 The last step is to send your photos to the printing website that is going to print your photos for you. You do this by uploading to their site, and they will guide you through the process. The quality will be very good and no doubt, you will be highly pleased with the outcome.

A Warning Against Personal Antivirus

By Susan Reynolds

The best and effective way of performing Personal Antivirus removal is to know some basic details about the same. Unlike others, this Antispyware Program can cripple your computer and make it a dummy which is unable to perform any function. The removal of this program is a must otherwise it can be a threat to your Internet security as well, causing your personal information, bank account details available for the hackers out in the web-world.

Your computer is infected with spyware. Ironically the program advertised is the actual cause of your problem, Personal Antivirus! This fake software will slow your computer down, offer you fake security scans, and continually impede your progress with constant pop-ups.

How does it hurt your computer, you may ask? A near-constant salvo of popups is, of course, standard. False security scan messages are an additional nasty twist. And of course, like most malware, it will slow your system down, and slow it down worse the longer you leave it to do its wicked business.

Even worse, though, Personal Antivirus can actually record what you type into your keyboard and keep track of the web sites you visit, and send all that private information wrapped in a pretty bow as a present to a malicious hacker. The hacker can then use that data for anything from violating your bank accounts to snatching up your identity for any number of illegal or unsavory purposes.

Personal Antivirus is a durable little bug that doesn't want to be squished. It has a very well-developed and dynamic set of programming that makes it quite hard to get rid of. It will place a great many useless dummy files on your system that do nothing but throw legitimate anti-malware scanners off the track of the real culprit. Deleting it manually is a challenge, because the random files are hard to identify as what they are, while at the same time still containing thee seed that allows the program to reinstall itself over and over again, even if you get rid of it once.

So, while you may think you've wiped your computer clean, Personal Antivirus is more than capable of growing back to full strength on a mere reboot. Due to the level of sophisticated defenses the nasty thing employs, you'll want to find a highly-sophisticated anti-malware remover that has a high frequency of database updates, so it can actually find and destroy all those niggling little randomized malware seeds.

A small investment can enable you to protect yourself against the rogue spyware program. The modern advanced tools are highly effective in removing the threats caused by the Personal Antivirus. Apart from this the advanced tools ensure that your computer is not affected by any other new kind of spyware program. So this is an added benefit from the advanced tools to safeguard your system against Internet threats. A little investment will provide you peace of mind, definitely.

Xbox 360 - Four Tips For Avoiding The Red Ring Of Death

By Marc Sandford

The red ring of death refers to the three red lights on your console that indicate a general hardware failure. Perhaps you have a new xbox that works just fine and want to prevent the red ring of death from happening to you.

Perhaps the red ring of death has already happened to you and you don't want it to ever happen again. Whatever your situation may be, you can take a number of easy to follow steps that will prevent the red ring of death.

1.) Know where the cooling vents are and be sure to never block them. If air can't freely flow into these vents, your Xbox will overheat. Make sure there is plenty open space around these vents. Keep them clear of clutter and don't have them pushed up against the wall.

2.) Always keep your xbox clean of grit, dirt or dust. Dust can get suctioned into the cooling vents which will block them over time. The xbox's cooling system can't function properly with blocked vents. This blockage can also damage the cooling fans. Keep the vents clear by vacuuming out any dust or dirt.

3.) The rules that apply to your Xbox console also apply to the power brick. That is, the power brick must be kept cool. Therefore, make sure that air is free to flow around it. Don't place it on soft or shaggy surfaces such as a carpet. Put it on a table or you can hang it off a hook.

4.) The xbox should be kept away from sources of heat. Keep the air conditioner running when you are using your xbox on a hot day.

Your xbox will also get hot if it's used over long periods of time. It's advisable to give your xbox a rest after a couple hours of use so that it can cool down.

At this point, you may have guessed correctly that the red ring of death is caused by overheating. The xbox has a weak cooling system and doesn't tolerate heat very well. It's internal components are very powerful and therefore put out a lot of heat. So the key to avoiding the red ring of death is to do everything you can to keep your xbox running cool.
