How To Use A Photo Editor To Print Your Digital Photos

By Lucas Godfrey

It is a real cost saver when you can edit your pictures after you have taken them. It was always a hold your breath hit and misses way of taking pictures with standard cameras. Having said that there is still a place for those old faithful cameras in the world of photography.

Digital photography is a wonderful way to teach a youngster about catching memories for life. There is no real problem with the significant errors they will make in the beginning. As time goes on, they will take great pride in their work and hopefully have many happy hours at a great pastime.

One of the most significant ways you can help them achieve the goals they want is by teaching them how to edit the pictures so the can be printed.

Item #1: There are many free versions of photo editing software on the internet. Chose one that you feel is relatively simple and easy to use. This way you will be able to teach that novice photographer how to do their own editing. There are great programs such as Photoshop and Paint Shop pro, which can be purchased if anyone wants to become more advanced in their photography editing techniques.

Item #2: You are going to need some photos to work on. Either these can be downloaded from the digital camera or they can be scanned. Either way they can be edited readily. Unless they are perfect, you should not settle for less than best and do some type of editing at least.

Item #3 Now its time to edit. The decision here is what needs to be fixed in your opinion. Perhaps you want to cut out a lot of the useless stuff that got into your photo, so you do this by cropping it. Then you can sharper the color and contrast if you feel it necessary. Once you learn all these basics, you can get fancy with your special effects. You can make the photos look professional by adding a boarder. Perhaps put some clip art in the photo and even add some text to it.

Item #4: Once you feel the photo is exactly as you want it. Its time to print your masterpiece. Save the edited file under another name so you can keep the original as it was, just in case the edits did not turn out that great. That way you can start over again. Digital photo printing is much less complicated if you order the size of the original picture. Remember that if used any resizing features the quality of the photo will have changed somewhat. The same will apply if you change the size at which you want the picture printed.

Item #5 The last step is to send your photos to the printing website that is going to print your photos for you. You do this by uploading to their site, and they will guide you through the process. The quality will be very good and no doubt, you will be highly pleased with the outcome.
