Leveling A Priest - Here's What You Need To Know To Get Started

By M.Mananite

Looking into leveling a Priest? everyone loves a Priest as a healer is always needed in groups. As good as the Priest is at that though, they are also able to dish out some damage with their offensive spells.

If you're going to give the Priest a go, it's a good idea to read up on some tips before you start though, here are a few that will start you off:

When you are leveling a Priest, you'll find you have access to 2 spells, one defensive one offensive. You will make use of Lesser Heal when you are low on hit points and use Smite to pelt enemies from a distance. If necessary you can use your melee attack as well.

Of course it's better you use a wand instead of a melee attack, so when you can, be sure to pick one up.

Now when you are level 4, you will gain the spell Shadow Word: Pain, this is a DOT ability. As soon as you have this, make sure it is used in every battle. If a battle is going on for a while and it fades, make sure you cast it back on the enemy.

Upon reaching level 6 you will be able to use the spell Power Word: Shield. This will shield you from a set amount of damage and will prevent your spells from being interrupted by the enemy. Use this as frequently as possible.

At level 8 you will gain 2 spells, Renew and Fade. Renew is basically a more powerful healing spell while Fade will work to reduce your aggro.

Once you're level 10, you will gain access to Resurrection and Mind Blast. Resurrection is going to help others in your group who need to be resurrected and Mind Blast will be an offensive spell for you that deals Shadow damage.

After this, you're going to be able to visit your race's main city, once there, you can outfit your guy with some improved gear. This should get you started, but if you're interested in more info leveling a Priest you might want to have a look at a more detailed leveling guide.
