It's notable that a career within the electrical industry, with its attractive options, remains a choice for lots of people. Whilst the original term is 'Electro-Mechanical Engineering' we will simply refer to the subject as the Electrical Industry. Often a young apprentice will be in their first job since leaving school, and will therefore have a host of ancillary skills to learn during their first few years as a working adult.

The different ways into electrical work have two distinct types of training: Junior entrants go through NVQ training in England and Wales, and SVQ training in Scotland. The training itself is similar to non NVQ training, but completion of the full programme means getting the actual qualifications. 'Junior Entrants' will have to be in an apprenticeship of some sort in order to achieve the testing and course work required.

Instead of seeking a work-based training environment, the Mature Entrant often seems to focus on working as a self employed person where different qualifications to NVQ's are preferred. In the main the person will aim to gain the best from their investment costs against the return for that training. This method may appear to reduce the levels of knowledge overall, but it does allow for an increase in the speed by which people enter and become more prevalent within the market.

So we have two defined routes laid out - one being for general employment and the other centred on self-employment. For the sake of this document we will assume that everyone involved in electrical employment is working full-time. Certainly, whilst salary levels can be affected by knowledge and qualifications, they can also be affected by competence and aptitude.

Wages for 'Junior Entrants' can become as high as 30,000 or more per annum with the right experience, although starting salaries are around 12,000. Mature Entrants are more difficult to assess, and incomes up to and above 70k are regularly reported within the UK Press. Irrespective of this salary level many self-employed people also need to manage extra business costs such as tools, clothes and vans. In addition to this they will also have to allow for items such as accountancy and personal/professional insurance. Whilst there is lots of available work, a severe skills shortage means electricians are very much in demand. Working 7 days a week is totally achievable for most people if they want it. Although by working very long hours and having assistants to help, the figures of 70-100 thousand advertised in newspapers might be achieved, it wouldn't be easy.

In light of the above, it is often understood that there is wild variance between the working expectations of Junior and Mature Entrants. Electricians who are 'Junior Entrants' would work a simple 40 hour working week. To be fair, if the Mature electrician is focused on the domestic market then they often find themselves working out of hours, especially to support their clients when they get home. With many self-employed electricians the core of their income comes from items such as business testing and installation and as such operates during the main part of the week.

Any specialist knowledge the Junior Entrant gains whilst in someone's employ is usually down to the sectors of industry that company works in. Alternatively, the mature entrant can gain other training outside of their chosen field, such as gas and plumbing work. Without a doubt the extra skills help them in their overall employ whether this is commercial or domestic work.

'Green Engineering' is another area to consider. This requires new skills and working knowledge and is one of the fastest growing areas today. With expected growth through new employment contracts and business options, this new entity is extremely attractive to many Junior and Mature Electricians, especially when considering the UK and EEC support overall.

An individual who does not put a postal code on a parcel will find that the postal station will put a label with the correct postal code on it so that the parcel will be sent to the proper location.

Wordpress out of the box provides basic management of the fundamental SEO meta information. To extend the functionality we add our own super-charged version of the All-In-One-SEO Pack. The SEO pack makes it easy to modify the page title and page meta description.

The All-In-One-SEO Pack is a great WordPress plugin that finishes off the SEO aspects for WordPress. For some unknown reason WordPress still has not got the SEO fixed out of the box.

The All-In-One-SEO Pack allows you you to change the most important page components - page title and page description. It also allows you to change the page keywords, but as we all know, search engines no longer take note of these because they have been spammed too much in the past. Google finished using the keywords for page ranking in the early 2000's.

Page Title HTML tags

This is the No1 SEO component to manipulate. Always make sure that you control the page title. The page title appears in the browser window at the very top of the screen. Search engines use this in the listings and display it in their search results.

Ideally the page title consists only of appropriate keywords and nothing else. To make the text more human readable then we often add a pipe character (

Just like with a book the page title of an HTML page is the most significant factor. Never leave this element to chance. Make sure you use keywords in the title.

If your page needs to extend to cover two or three keywords we have found that you can still get great rankings from adding multiple keywords to the title. But do remember that the closer the page title is to the keyword you want to rank for the better.

If you are a larger branded company you will probably want to add your company or brand name into the page title considering this is displayed on Google. Keep it short and simple though. Do not add your brand statement just your brand or company name.

Page Descriptions Meta Tags

This element is NOT used by search engines for ranking purposes. Nevertheless, virtually all search engines will employ this in their search results so it is important. Google does not use the description all the time but we find that it uses it about 80-90% of the time. At other times Google will use the first piece of text that it can find on the page. On Flash pages this can be an issue considering there is no content. This is one reason why you should always add at least one sentence of HTML text on a Flash based page so Google and other search engines have something meaningful to display in the search results.

By having a good description it will increase your click through rates because the text will be more engaging to people. Ensure that you use a maximum of 156 characters. If you use any more characters Google will cut short the rest. If you can keep your descriptions to--0 characters or less this is even better seeing Google sometimes adds a date to the beginning of the description which is part of the 156 characters it displays.

Not only is the game specific code quite unique (you won't see path finding algorithms, or collision detection in an office app!) but they tend to have lots of extras like game over screens, and pregame animations which all add to the amount of work and time required to develop them. So the only way to develop a game methodically is to start with a solid written design, and then a list of required assets (graphics, audio etc.) and only then should you consider starting to code.

After a design has been drafted, creating a mock-up game in Flash is the next step. At this stage the idea is to write the Actionscript code for the game to be functional, but not worrying too much about how the game looks. I often use place holder graphics at this stage, which will later be swapped out with the proper graphics produced by an artist, and unless it is integral to the game I leave the audio out entirely. Once the mock-up has been developed, and tested, the next stage is to integrate the graphics and audio. If the design phase was completed carefully with consideration to the graphics and audio, the artists (if the developer is not creating the graphics themselves) can be producing the graphical assets while the mock-up is being created. This allows the graphics and audio to be integrated relatively quickly and easily, and the game is now fully tested again.

Finally, after all the hard work designing, developing and testing the game your final creation will be ready to publish. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done, and start planning your next project.

If you're thinking of getting started in Flash game development then it's a really good idea to edit an existing game or two first. Making changes to an existing game, such as adding new levels or power-ups, can be a far less daunting task than building a whole game from scratch. You can even take the source code for an existing game and turn it into a new game entirely. Then once you've gained more experience you'll be in a better position to start building your own games from scratch.

The important point about writing an intro is that it must be short. When you write a headline and then put content below it, your reader will expect the headline to correspond to the story below. Readers really won't give much time to an intro which talks about sports, when the headline talks about vacations.

Furthermore, you may have captured the essence of the story very well in the intro, but you have to ask yourself the question.. is the intro short enough to engage reader interest before the content return to elaborating on the subject a hand?

The piece above contains an intro that's quite short. This kind of intro has the potential to work very well as long as the reader knows what they are reading. Readers know what the article is going to tell them in broad terms and so they know what to look-out for within the story.

Starting with a long introduction that appears to bear no relevance to the headline is the number one killer of otherwise good writing.

In case you use big anecdote, you must let your reader be aware of how it is connected to your subject, otherwise you will find that readers will opt out of reading your topic, even before you bring out your point.

More essence in fewer words; the function of an introduction is to convey something about your broader point.

If you want to do this right, you have to think about your intro in a broader sense and include those details which bring this out and leave out those that don't. If it takes more than a minute for you to get from power on to your desktop, you should strongly consider examining your startup programs. Many sneaky programs add themselves to your startup menu when you run them. Music apps, chat programs and other similar software might be hogging a lot of your memory upon startup.

A good power supply or PSU generally has around 40 amps on the 12 volt rail. If you don't have a video card and are using an onboard chipset then it's time to get one. So go ahead and buy your computer the 4 Gigabytes of RAM it deserves this Christmas. You could also buy a 1 Terabyte hard drive for your machine. You can say goodbye to the space constrains for your music, games, pictures, and home movies. Finally you could give your computer additional cooling with high performance fans.

Of course for the interface devices you can buy new mice and keyboards. Preferably the transparent ones with the multi colored LED lights in them. Or grab a new HDTV for a monitor upgrade. Additionally, nobody will be able to take your USB drive and easily examine any of the data you have stored on it. Keep in mind, though, that no drive is 100% safe from a concerted cracking effort, though encrypting and password protecting it will make that effort extremely difficult.

But a third technology that emerges is one worthy of attention producing high quality video images that overpower LCD and DLP. It is called LCOS and deserves our attention.

LCD uses liquid crystals one for every pixel. The light goes through them on its way to the lenses and it in modulated by the liquid crystals that it is traversing. It is a transitive technology. The DLP uses microscopic mirrors, one for every pixel reflecting the light. This is a modulating technology and it is reflexive.

LCOS is a combination from these two technologies. Mainly it is a reflexive technology using liquid crystals instead of individual mirrors. At LCOS, the liquid crystals are applied on a reflexive, mirror like, type layer. As the crystals open and close the light is reflected but not towards the mirror they are applied on. This is how the image is created. The LCOS projectors are using mainly 3 chips one for the modulation of the light on the channels red, green and blue. Similar to LCD, LCOS projects the red, green and blue components simultaneously. The rotating disc from DLP technology is absent.

The LCOS technology has a very high resolution and naturally is more expensive than the majority of LCD or DLP products. There are no SVGA resolutions at LCOS projectors and seldom XGA equipments. Generally the LCOS projectors come with SXGA (1365x 1024) technologies or higher and that is why, by definition, they are not cheap.

So, due to the high resolution and the large dimension, the LCOS technology was not adapted for the slender, portable video projectors. The LCD and DLP projectors are presently selling in large quantities and are the best sold options for mobile, educational and Home Theater usage; this is the reason for which they are enjoying a higher attention. Because LCOS is not sold in similar quantities many people believe it is not that good. This is not correct at all. Many well informed video-fans looking for elegant solutions in home theaters are choosing the LCOS technology due to those characteristics that neither LCS nor DLP can use.

It is relatively simple to remove this virus, even without anti-virus software tools. You just do it through DOS. You remember DOS don't you? Sony's new reader - the Sony Daily Edition - will also have a large display format and wireless connectivity - like the Kindle DX - but unlike the DX it will incorporate touch screen controls. It will also let users download e-books on loan from participating public libraries. Again - just like a conventional book.

Many of the other readers in the pipeline have features that could well make them more appealing than the Kindle. Amazon definitely have a fight looming - but it seems sure that they won't surrender their number one position without a struggle. They have played a pivotal role in the development of the market up to now, and bearing in mind the critical importance of the Kindle to their current business model, it seems reasonable to expect them to have a few new tricks up their corporate sleeve.

At the end of the day, given the level of activity amongst all of the various manufacturers, it looks as if the e-book reader market is about to start growing even faster. Hopefully the rampant competition that seems about to be unleashed will force prices downwards and take e-book readers out of the high tech domain and into mainstream personal mobile tech market.

Passenger Rights Chief Says That Delta Hacked My Email

An airline passenger rights advocate is accusing Delta Air Lines of hacking into her computer and e-mail accounts to sabotage her organization's attempts to mandate basic services during flight delays.

Kate Hanni, a resident of California, is the founder of the Coalition for an Airline Passengers Bill of Rights, an organization lobbying for federal laws that require airlines to provide bathroom access, clean air, and access to medical treatment when passengers are held up for hours on the tarmac. The legislation would also give passengers an option to exit the plane if they have been delayed on the tarmac for over three hours. Four versions of a "Airline Passenger's Bill of Rights of 2009″ are currently pending before Congress.

In a lawsuit filed in Houston, Texas on Tuesday, Hanni accuses the world's largest airline carrier and an aviation consulting firm of conspiring to breach her computer and email in order to derail her lobbying efforts. She seeks a minimum of $11m in damages.

According to court documents, Hanni claims earlier this year she began exchanging emails with Frederick Foreman, an analyst with Virginia-based Metron Aviation who was researching US government airline surface delay data. During their correspondence, both swapped data and information about surface delays without explicit permission from Metron, of which Delta is a client.

Hanni said her PC and American Online email account were both accessed illegally this summer, with AOL confirming the email breach. Some of her data was copied to an unknown location, and other files were corrupted and rendered useless.

The plot thickens in Foreman's affidavit. He claims that on September 25, 2009, Metron executives confronted him with "what appeared to be hacked and stolen email communications" between Hanni and himself, as well as two media contacts. The emails were sent from his private accounts on MSN and AOL and not sent through Metron's internal email system, he claims.

Foreman states in his sworn affidavit that the executive informed him the emails were sent to the Metron from Delta and that the airline was "mad and upset" Hanni had been provided with the flight delay information. Foreman claims he tried to explain that the data was publicly available online from US government statistics, but was still fired and escorted off the premises.

When reached for comment, Delta flatly stated, "the allegation that we would hack an individual's e-mail is absurd."

Hanni claims Delta has a motive for seeking and destroying her data because if passenger rights bills are passed, airlines stand to lose over $40m in revenues in addition to millions more in accommodations for customers exiting planes during long delays. Currently, airlines are not restricted by law on how long planes can hold passengers on the tarmac.
